After all, he hadn't even done it consistently in his amateur baseball career.
"I've thrown a couple complete games in junior college, but those were only seven innings instead of nine," Gonsalves said at Wilson Park, two hours before the Admirals took the field against the Santa Rosa Rose Buds. "The only other complete game was in (American) Legion ball when I was 17."
The Vallejo Admirals announced Tuesday that a new ownership group, headed by Tito Fuentes Baseball Academy and local businessman Buck Kamphausen, will be taking over ownership of the formerly cash-strapped baseball team.
The Admirals will continue their season next Tuesday against Santa Rosa at Wilson Park in Vallejo.
