Broadcast Media Intern for the 2014 season.
We are seeking a Broadcast & Media Intern for the 2014 season to learn the duties of its Media Relations & Broadcast Department.
The Broadcast & Media Intern is responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the media department and the broadcast of the game & will work with the Media Relations Director.
The key responsibilities of the Broadcast & Media Intern include:
Website & social media management (especially in game)
Assist in managing team’s Baseball Reference & Wiki page
Assist in press release distribution & creation
Create program inserts for each home series with player stats
Assist in set up & operation of press box & PA system before & during every home game
Assist other media outlets during games in press box
Posting & occasional writing of post-game wraps on website
Create Photoshop images for home page banner
Color commentary during game & Play by play of innings 4-6 (pending experience level & interest in live commentary)
Audio engineering during broadcasts of interviews & transition to breaks
Production assistant of Media Relations Director during interviews
Assist in audio & video editing for interviews & slide shows
Share duties of conducting post-game interviews
The Broadcast & Media Intern will work with the Media Relations Director on a daily basis to ensure that all information packets are completed, press releases have been distributed, and all covering media is assisted.
The Broadcast & Media Intern and Media Relations Director will work together in assisting local media with any information they may need to increase coverage of the Vallejo Admirals.
Reports to: Tim Fitzgerald, Media Relations Director
Time: Starts in early April & ends at the completion of the season in late August/early September (pending playoffs). Must be in attendance for the majority of home & road games starting June 3rd. Must be willing and available to work long hours, weekends and nights. Preferably local candidate familiar with Vallejo & Solano county.
Minimum - Soph, Jr. or Sr. in college
Passion for sports media
Vast baseball knowledge
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Able to work in fast-paced atmosphere
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
